Poetry as process (contingent, incessant, stretchy, permeable), evades the arrangement, the schema, the singular, the interpretation. These points of evasion, aporia, etc are where the spark might be.
Poetry, seen as object held together by this excess is what persists in getting wet no matter that the non-poetic would shelter it under the umbrella of a concept. The spark is mistaken if taken as a concept (& that cannot be helped).
Even the poem that aims at the concept or object and is deemed to have attained that goal is misrecognized if it is equated with that end (read, heard, experienced as the embodiment of that end rather than the spark - like a lightning flash that reveals the shadow of a poem looming - but which is gone again when one looks for what cast the shadow).
It is not that the poem cannot be an object, it can and at times must, if the shadow cast by the spark can be taken as object (it can) - not the recognized "form" or the other detritus of pre-fabricated expectation. The Low Ghost that haunts it rather than the logos haunted.
